Ebay launches a New Price Guide for Sports Cards in the US

eBay continues to help trading card buyers and sellers, launching a new sports card price guide feature. The service can help users identify and place value on raw and graded cards.

The price guide for sports cards can be found in My eBay via the App. Users can scroll down to shortcuts, where it will say scan cards. There, they can use their smartphone cameras and scan their cards, and with comparable prices previously sold on eBay, will then be shown. The transaction data can date back to two years and shows Best Offer accepted prices.

The service is in ‘Early Access’, which means testing will continue, and the user experience will improve via feedback. There are also no costs or subscription fees, and no usage limits.

Vice President and General Manager for Global Collectibles at eBay, Adam Ireland, made a statement regarding the new service.

“Collectors rely on accurate comps to make smart buying, selling, and trading decisions. Our new Price Guide for sports trading cards brings relevant data together in one place, offering a clearer view of everything from rarity to real market value. We’ll continue to test and refine the experience, but we’re very excited to get this in front of collectors and make sure it delivers what our community needs.”

Not only does it have the price guide, but users also have a few extra features, such as access to the POP Report, Collectors can also shop active listings or add scanned cards to ‘My Collection’ to track their value and list at a future date.

It’s only available in the US at the minute, though usually they use the US market for testing then branch out to other countries, so hopefully it’s making its way over the Atlantic early next year.
